Core Supports
Core Supports promotes empowerment, independence and assists with achieving goals of the individual with a disability. This can be through assistance with daily household tasks through participating in and being involved in the community through a variety of groups or clubs like a football club for example. As travel is an important part of getting out in the community, this is considered an important part of assisting participants with achieving their goals. This is a key category that is provided as part of Core Supports.

Assistance with Daily Living
This category in NDIS Core Supports focuses on assisting the participant with day-to-day personal household activities or chores and personal care. These services can be categorised into the following:
- Personal Care: this includes assistance with hygiene practices such as showering, toileting and dressing. The participant’s dignity is always maintained and ensures personal hygiene is always achieved as well.
- Household Maintenance: this includes assistance with everyday household tasks such as cooking, cleaning, laundry and gardening. This forms an essential part of home maintenance to enable the participants to live in a safe and welcoming environment.

Transport
For participants who do not have access to public transport or a disability friendly private transport, NDIS Core Supports provides assistance with this. This is considered an essential support in the participant maintaining independence and being able to get to locations where they can achieve their goals or socialise.
- Assist with organising and paying for ride share transport.
- Support staff providing transportation through their own personal vehicle whilst supporting the participant.
- Using public transport.
- Where the participant does have access to disability friendly public transport but is hesitant to travel, the support staff can develop a plan to assist the participant in gaining confidence in using public transport.

Domestic Cleaning
The main aim is to improve the quality of the participant’s life, one of the ways this can be assisted is by providing domestic cleaning. This can be completed daily, weekly or monthly based on what your NDIS plan stipulates. For participants who require more intense regular cleaning around the household to make their household welcoming and livable. These are the duties that can be completed:
